Bringing A Smile Your Way!!

About Us

My name is Michael (Mickey) Wester. I recently moved to Fort Worth and I am actively involved in Children's Ministry at The First Church of Fort Worth. I started working with puppets in 1978 at a Church in Plano, Texas. I started a team while attending college at Houston Baptist University in 1983 and have started several teams since then in the Church setting. I sold several of the “McGruff” puppet programs to schools and law enforcement departments for Puppet Productions in the late 1980’s, and performed puppet shows at “open house” events for the Alvin EMS from 1988 to 1993. I began to envision a private company in 1998 and founded Puppet Shoz in 2005.

My Employment Background:

I have spent 27 years in Emergency Medical Services and was in the Fire Service for 8 years. I am still licensed in Texas as a paramedic.

Programs

Day Cares:

For the younger audiences at daycare centers, we will sing a few silly songs and teach on safety. Safety issues like: fire safety, when to call 911, what to do if they get hurt, be a stranger to danger, and not talking to strangers. These issues are approached in various ways with various puppet characters. Seldom will you get the same show twice, so we can serve you more than just once. We do like to add variety!!

Elementary Schools:

For the elementary age kids, we will teach substance abuse programming. These include alcohol abuse, drug abuse and anti-smoking skits. We teach these subjects using puppets to kids before they reach the DARE program and hopefully we can assist the DARE program in keeping our kids educated and drug-free. We will be adding programming in the near future about dental hygiene.

Banquets:

We are able to do full banquets, including Christmas, Valentine, Easter, Thanksgiving and can adapt to do any other banquets.

Parties:

We love to cater to private parties. We can write personalized programs to be used at these times. These parties would include birthday, retirement, anniversary, job promotion, or any other party. Since we are a Christian based company, certain types of party invitations will be declined. All of our content is clean and wholesome and we believe in family values.

We use primarily pre-recorded programming but we can also do “live” shows. We do require an electrical outlet. The stage we use is 8.8 ft wide and 4.5 ft deep. We can add a second level to the stage if the programming we are using requires it.
